2011/04/02 First PPG flights

Hi All,

The second of April was a day of my first PPG flight. I received ordered paramotor. It is beautiful. With helf of Slawek and the rest of ZielonaGora's team I made my first 4 powered flights. It is different dimension of the freedom. I was so amused that I don't remember much from it. Dream has come true!

2011/03/28 TInto (UK) XC and cementary landing

Unfortunately I took off too late when huge Cu covered the sky almost killing thermal activity. The mixture of climbing and scratching gave proper altitude to leave the Big Tinto. I left the hill when it was in the sun and was hoping for some thermals out of the hill. I found only weak bubbles at the clouds shadow. The most interesting part was after landing. David offered mi a lift so waiting for him I visited small, old cemetery. I was surprised by 6 gravestones of polish solders from IIWW.

2011/03/22 Bishop (UK) soaring with gliders

Hello, Yesterday was nice day at Bishop. I get there with Zebur about 1pm. Therry, Alan and RafaƂ were waiting for us, so we walk up the half of the hill and took off. Very nice soaring with gliders from Scottish Gliding Centre. Plenty of lift every where even 1km in front of the hill. I have tried 50% collapses, front collapse and spiral dive. After 2h of flying I decided to land on small landing field covered with grass. Warm evening proofs that the spring has already came!

2011/03/18-19 Northern England thermalling and XC

Hi All,
Friday
I left Glasgow with Brandon about 7am and came to the hill at 11am. Nice cumulus clouds started to form, a day after cold front and high pressure system is an ideal combination. After take off it was easy to stay up and play with thermals. At 12 about 20-25 gliders in the air. Finally I left the fill and gone cross-country. Landed after 18km being unsatisfied of this result.
Saturday
Short top to bottom with Trias and Brandon.

2011/03/05 Abington (GB) soaring and thermalling

Hi All,
From the very morning the sky was covered with stratus. It didn't look particularly good but I decided to have a try and went with Alan to Abington East. High pressure didn't make me feel optimistic. To fly this site you need a Cloudbusters PG School permission. The wind strength was changing and sometimes it was hard to stay up. A lot of kiting up the hill, a lot of ground handling, learning how to use more effectively the soar ridge. For about 1 hour it was possible to fly thermals. Cloud base was relatively low so it was not long climb. Good day with a lot of practice. I have tried slope landings, but still I am not particularly good at this. If summary about three hours of having fun with glider.

2011/03/01 Tinto (GB) top to bottom flight

I was on Tinto N with Kenny about noon. Unfortunately the wind was very light and blowing ENE not very suitable for this site. After 30min of waiting and 1h of ground handling I decided to take off and try to catch some thermal. I was in one for a while but it was 0,5m/s down so I decided to go further to look for something stronger. Unfortunately there was nothing so landing and nice walk through a forest. Nice day out but only 5 min of flying ;-(

2011/02/28 Moorfoot (GB) soaring

Hi All,
Saturday and Sunday on MoorFoot.
Saturday.
I was there around 1p.m. according to Bobi's help - thank you! The wind was quite strong at the beginning but after 1 hour it was flyable. First of all I decided to try Bobi's Gradient Aspen 2. After Took off from over the road and had about 1,5 hour flight. I was trying to jump to the west to big mountains but couldn't manage.
Sunday.
I come there with Sergey - hang gliding pilot. We were first ones and it was blowing 20mph. After three hours of waiting the wind finally dropped down. During this time I had some ground handling with Lukasz's Advance Sigma 7. After this I have inflated my Fides2Evo and took off from the below the road. Quite a bit of scratching and I get to the top's hill height. Than I decided to go to the west to the higher hills. Being half way there I noticed that everybody is coming back from there and decided to follow them. Nice 12km flight.
A few lessons learned during this weekend :-)
